Stars 4 Peace originated in 2012 through Tacoma’s music community. We have installed Stars in events,
businesses and community organizations like Tacoma Pride (2016), Tacoma’s Grand Cinema (TIFF, 2012),
and at the W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory since 2013. We use Stars 4 Peace to highlight and gain
support for solutions to social issues like at risk youth, women recovering from trauma in the home and
people experiencing homelessness, along with environmental causes. 2021 we were able to include the
Tacoma Light Trail in our Conservatory installation (First Light), and then we were included in the Tacoma
Light Trail in 2022 when we installed in the Bostwick building. Our work in Tacoma has been continuous
since 2012 and we will collaborate with a variety of community organizations as we have annually.
