View the Tacoma Light Trail!
Experience the magic of the Tacoma Light Trail from December 31 to January 11! This free, walkable/driveable trail features dazzling light art on display every night from 5 PM to 9 PM throughout downtown Tacoma. Additionally, a Sound Trail pairs music and poetry with each light location via QR code.
New Years Eve Kick Off Celebration
Join us for a Dragon Parade from the UWT steps at the Prairie Line to Tollefson Plaza at 5:30pm, where the New Year’s Eve kickoff celebration begins. Performances begin at 6pm with a Tacoma’s new Poet Laureate, Mari Griffin, tap dancer Nyah Hart and continues with performances from many of Tacoma’s diverse presenting organizations, including fire and cultural dances!

Welcome to Illuminated Ballroom, an evening of visual and auditory delight in this incredible gilt-tipped historic space. Drinks available.

Welcome to Illuminated Ballroom, an evening of visual and auditory delight in this incredible gilt-tipped historic space. Drinks available.
Light Up Bike Ride
Celebrate the light and the new year with a free, family-friendly bike ride. Gather at 6:00 p.m. to decorate your bike with lights and reflectors. Participants will follow a 3.5 mile route, going through Downtown and Hilltop with two stops to admire the Light Trail installations.
