Light Up the Night! Tacoma Light Trail’s FREE New Year’s Eve Celebration!
Thursday, December 31, 2026 | 5:30–10 PM | Tollefson Plaza
The festivities begin at 5:30 PM with our fiery Dragon Parade, traveling from the University of Washington Tacoma steps along the Prairie Line Trail to Tollefson Plaza, where the celebration bursts into life!
Enjoy an exciting lineup featuring Tacomarama Band, the Puyallup Tribe, Tacoma Poet Laureate Mari Griffin, Asia Pacific Cultural Center’s fire and cultural dancers, Mo Motion Dance Academy, Mi Centro’s cultural dancers, DJ Summersoft, and more!
Get in on the fun with hands-on light art, lantern-making, and creative activities for the whole family. Come hungry! A food truck will be serving up delicious comfort food for purchase.
The best part? All performances and activities are FREE!

6–10 PM: Live performances and festivities at Tollefson Plaza
Rain or snow? The celebration goes on! In case of inclement weather, activities and performances will move indoors to the Tacoma Armory.
